The Hirst family has been Pensacola proud since 1982 when George and Linda Hirst moved their small family of four(daughter, Heather and son, Stephen) from Philadelphia,PA. While in Philadelphia, George began his career in the automotive industry. First taking classes at the Spring Garden Institute, a private technical college whose programs were accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology(ABET). Following his time at the Spring Garden Institute, George pursued further education at the Automotive Training Center in Exton, PA(est.1917). The Automotive Training Center specializes exclusively in technician training for the automotive and marine service industries. After completing his education, George took his first real step into the transmission industry as a Repair Technician for a major transmission franchise. George quickly made the transition from Tech to Transmission Rebuilder also serving as a Hotline Technician where George was responsible for assisting transmission rebuilders all over the country with trouble shooting and problem solving. Coming from meager beginnings in the big city, both George and Linda longed for a better life and environment for their young children. Luckily when asking for a transfer, George was given the option of Pensacola. After a quick visit, the family fell in love with Pensacola's beautiful beaches and warm climate. Over the next 14 years George developed a reputation for quality and efficiency and became one of the most sought after transmission rebuilders in Pensacola. In 1996 George's great reputation in the industry made it possible to open the doors to Hirst Transmission Specialists. From the first day of business Linda Hirst has filled many postitions within the company including but not limited to: accounts payable, customer service liason, payroll, accountants receivable and the like. Stephen Hirst has also been involved with the company from the beginning as a technician and later moving up to the General Manager position. For the last 13 years the Hirst family has been proud to serve the Pensacola/Gulf Breeze/Pace area and are among the top respected transmission facilities in the southeast.
